- Some of the different workshops:
- Establish a Writing Group
I was a founding member of the highly successful VISION Writing Group and have used this experience to produce a two day Establish a Writing Group Workshop which I did with the Central Highlands Writing Group at Emerald in Queensland. This workshop includes tips on promoting the group and running it so the focus is on writing and not administration. I take the time to train the group in Critiquing and the workshop comes with one year's writing exercises for the group. Contact Jenny from the CHWG for feedback. <sandjwenham@optusnet.com.au>

- I’ve now had a couple of weeks of working through the assessment you did and I’m well on the way to addressing the issues you raised, but more importantly, I think I’m getting some insight into how you think about the writing process, especially at those points where you really challenged me not to take the easy way out.
- I just wanted to tell you that I feel it has been one of the most powerful learning experiences I’ve had on my journey to becoming a writer and that I am very grateful indeed.

- It was a very productive meeting. First we discussed the points from the competition feedback, then specific points concerning my story. I was impressed, and touched, that Rowena had made extensive notes regarding large sections of my story and had a keen grasp of many aspects of it, including the characters, sub-plots and back-stories.
- All of that discussion exceeded my expectations, but in addition, she pointed out some real technical problems with the narrative and offered really helpful advice and creative ideas for solutions.
- Rowena was very sensitive to my sense of style and helped me forwards towards where I wanted to go with the story, managing to guide me without fanning the flames of my self-doubt. (Bloody pseudo-writers, always trying to squeeze in a metaphor!)
- I came away from the meeting full of the buzz that I used to experience after Louise Cusack’s workshops, with a framework for restructuring my story, and a head-full of ideas percolating over the new changes.
